from the Secret
I promise myself

To be so strong that nothing can disturb my peace of mind.
To talk health, happiness, and prosperity to every person I meet.
To make all my friends feel that there is something worthwhile in them.
To look at the sunny side of everything and make my optimism come true.
To think only of the best, to work only for the best and to expect only the best.
To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as I am about my own.
To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.
To wear a cheerful expression at all times and give a smile to every living creature I meet.
To give so much time to improving myself that I have no time to criticize others.
To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.
To think well of myself and to proclaim this fact to the world, not in loud words, but in great deeds.
To live in the faith that the whole world is on my side, so long as I am true to the best that is in me.

The Pot

This is an inspiring story that I came across that was sent to my mom by a friend of hers. I'm not sure who the author is, but it has a fantastic moral at the end. I hope you like it.

The Pot

A water bearer in India had two large pots, each hung on each en of a pole which he carried across his neck. One of the pots had a crack in it, and while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water at the end of the long walk from the stream to the masters house, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots full of water in his masters house. Of course, the perfect pot ws proud of its accomplishments, perfect to the end for which it was made. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it had been made to do. After two years of what it perceived to be a bitter failure, it spoke to the water bearer one day by the stream.

“I am ashamed of myself, and I want to apologize to you.” “Why?” asked the bearer. “What are you ashamed of?” “I have been able, for these past two years, to deliver only half my load because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your masters house. Because of my flaws, you have to do all of this work, and you don’t get full value from your efforts.” The pot said.

The water bearer felt sorry for the old cracked pot, and in his compassion he said, “As we return to the masters house, I want you to notice the beautiful flowers along the path.”

Indeed, as they went up the hill, the old cracked pot took notice of the sun warming the beautiful wild flowers on the side of the path, and this cheered it some. But at the end of the trail, it still felt bad because it had leaked out half its load, and so again the Pot apologized to the bearer for its failure.

http://www.eatlocalmemphis.org/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/photo_lg_india.jpg            The bearer said to the pot, “Did you notice that there were flowers only on your side of your path, but not on the other pots side? That’s because I have always known about your falw, and I took advantage of it. I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back from the stream, you’ve watered them. For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate my masters table. Without you being just the way you are, he would not have this beauty to grace his house.”

Each of us has our own unique flaws. We re all cracked pots. Don’t be afraid of your flaws. Acknowledge them, and you too can be the cause of beauty. Know that in our weakness we find our strength.

Food Education

Knowing how to eat properly is one of the most important types of education and it is not something that usually nobody learns in school. Most of the time it is up to the individual to learn to eat and to find out relevant information on this on their own.

Food Education has not only to do with the types of food that we should eat or avoid, but also how and when we to eat them.

On Your beautiful Self, I will emphazise on the importance of healthy, balanced eating, the proper ways to eat and the time of day you should eat certain foods.

Food is one the most important elements of life and there is no doubt that choosing the right foods to eat and knowing how to eat properly is part of achieving a more beautiful self.

Let us take time to try different foods, different fruits and vegetables and also to learn how to prepare them. Variety is the best way to keep yourself interested in healthy eating.

Certain foods are also used as medicine. It is believed that a lot ailments are caused by a person's eating habits. If you were to change your eating habits, maybe there would be ailments that you have that would disappear without the need of spending lots of money on doctor's visits and pharmaceuticals.

Every day we will learn more and more about the miraculous power of fruits and vegetables.

To your health!

Just Daniel.

The Idea Behind "Your Beautiful Self"

On Your Beautiful Self, we believe that there is nothing better than being just... yourself. Honest and outspoken, sincere and candid, and not fake who we are or compare ourselves to others in their physical traits or in their achievements. Comparisons are hasty. We should never believe that others are better than us because they have looks that are considered "better" than ours, or because they have achieved awards or goals or successes that we haven't. It is about time that we realize that each and everyone of us have things to be proud of.

Humanity suffers from many illnesses. Most of them are recognized as physical illnesses such as Heart Disease, Cancer, AIDS, Tuberculosis, Malaria, etc., and there is a lot that is being done about them. Tons of money is put into research on how to combat these diseases that kill myriads of people. And thankfully, lots of progress is made day by day. However, there are some other illnesses that are not paid much attention to. These are Emotional Illnesses. Hatred, Jealousy, Prejudice, Discrimination and one that is particularly harmful: Low Self - Esteem.

Low self - esteem is usually the root of all the other major emotional illnesses mentioned above. Low Self - Esteem decays the very core of who we are and sends us on a downward spiral. Low self - esteem is responsible for making us feel like we are not good enough, like we need to be who we aren't, like we need to do things to please others that we are not necessarily -- or most likely not -- comfortable doing, and in time we feel worse and worse with who we are that we end up being trapped in a circumstance and a persona that we never intended to be.

We need to feed our self - esteems. We need to make them healthier and stronger. In today's world, we are surrounded and bombarded with all sorts of negative stimuli. Everywhere we hear about people that are considered the most beautiful, lists of the top richest, people that purposely lead frivolous, destructive lives for the sake of publicity and money, and lots of us think "Gosh! Wouldn't I like to be like that! Most of this is produced by the holders of poor self - esteems and is aimed to the general audience -- made up mostly of other holders of poor self - esteems.
On this blog I commit to feed the souls of our readers. The soul, that very place were our self - esteem dwells, is accessed through our mind and our senses and that is what we would like to provide here. Food for the soul, inspiration, motivation, happiness and joy in many different forms. Bon Apetit!

There will posts on here periodically about different sorts of topics. We'll try to keep them informative, but I will also add opinions and my personal points of view on things.

I support the expression of points of view and discussions of topics. It is said that an intelligent person doesn't tear up or discredit another person's points of view, but carefully listens and considers them and perhaps even adds them to their knowledge. It is true that it might not be possible for people to always agree on a certain matter, but human beings, supposedly civilized creatures, have the ability to come to terms on disagreeing points.

I can't wait to see your participation and I will also greatly appreciate your support!!

Many thanks,

Just Daniel.

Official Launch of "Your Beautiful Self"

My First Day of Blogging!!

Hello Everyone!

My name is Daniel and this is my first entry on my very first blog. I've decided to create this space for people like myself who are looking for a place to relax while they are online. One's daily life can be so hectic! Work, family, running a house, doing errands, paying bills, dealing with difficult people and what I dread the most... Traffic Jams!! It doesn't get any easier when you get on the computer. Having to check Emails and above all, all the junk that is out there on the web doens't make the internet much of a friendly place either. Don't we all feel like we want to jump into our own little sanctuary were we can feel stress-free and also nurture our mind, body and soul? I certainly do, and that is why this place on the internet will be filled with nothing but useful information that will feed our knowledge and enrich our lives in many different ways.

I hope you will enjoy reading everything that I will be putting on here and not only that, but feed on the information and get something useful out of it.

Many thanks,

Just Daniel.
